Designer from Paris Mai Lamore effectively mixes art with shoes designing.
All of her creations today are famous worldwide for their artistic feature, which turns the shoe into statement, a wish and a cryptic accessory that overpasses its own boundaries. By Mai Lamore shoes, platforms decorated with precious stones or with feather, golden heels, precious stones, graceful panther, leopard sandals are meant.
Being interviewed for the Vogue UK publication Parisian shoe designer states the concept that stands behind each of her shoes: “A shoe is something that more than any other item of your wardrobe or clothing exists before even being worn. Most items of clothing in your wardrobe may fold up or remain lifeless if you do not wear them. Shoes as an “object” are mystical quality creations like sculpture that has its own life. Highly elegant shoes should always look as wonderful on the foot as it would in a vitrine”.
Mai Lamore was engaged in the world of art for 20 years before she became a shoe designer working with the French Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs and the Department o f Culture for the City of Paris meanwhile opening three art galleries in Paris. It is with this experience she turned into an inspired designer creating shoes that resemble an animal wrapped around the ankle with trailing tail from the heel and absorbing wedges or curbed heels.
Shoes of Mai Lamore are typical example of her art: golden 18 karat heel, decorated with silk petals which are dyed by hand and a bee that is put on shoes made of precious stones, for instance gold onyx and agate.
