Beyonce Knowles was featured in a photo shoot for a famous French fashion magazine L’Officiel Paris. The magazine wanted to dedicate a reversal to women for human rights activists and asked Beyonce to play the role of Fely Kuti, the Nigerian singer, politician and a fighter against injustice.
To this end, Beyonce was dressed in a leopard skin jacket, with accessories made of bone, painted face in a dark brown color and applied a “war paint” blue and yellow on the cheeks.
Critics immediately accused the singer of racism, saying that she is alike to white actors who paint their face in black paint, with huge black lips and played in low budget comedies.
